A YOUNG boy has been rushed to hospital after nearly drowning in a swimming pool earlier yesterday morning.

Paramedics were called at about 10.15am after the male child was found unconscious in a pool.

An hour later he was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital conscious and breathing in a stable condition.

The incident is another in a line of recent pool accidents, including twin toddlers found lifeless in a pool in Sydney’s northwest Monday night.

The 23-month-old twins are currently in a critical condition at the The Children’s Hospital in Westmead.

Earlier this month paramedics attended two near pool drownings on the Gold Coast.

A three-year-old boy was taken to hospital in a stable condition while a 13-year-old girl was treated at home and did not require hospitalisation.
